Blue Skies in Wisconsin
The 2006 Walkers Rally Review
Though rainy weather created havoc for some folks flying to Madison, the clouds parted before they even arrived at the resort and we had five days of clear blue, cloudless skies and temperatures in the 60's and 70's for the duration of the Rally. The leaves were colorful, the air was warm and spirits were high!
The House on the Rock Attraction, a two mile long walk through one man's imaginative displays, created a sense of awe in some, and sheer overwhelm in others. Everyone would agree, they've never seen anything like it.
Our guides at Taliesin were entertaining and Frank Lloyd Wright's home and estate were breathtaking. Some suggested we should go see his winter estate in Scottsdale, Arizona!
The Hike at Devil's Lake couldn't have been more beautiful, with a winding rocky trail to spectacular lookouts, we even spotted a eagle flying over the water. Though a few felt challenged by the ruggedness of the trail, they were thrilled when they realized they made it to the top.
The American Players Theater production of Arms and the Man, by George Bernard Shaw, held in a unique outdoor theater, was highlighted by a spectacular Harvest Moon. Though the weather was a bit nippy, the cast warmed our hearts with some good laughs. Kathy Inch took great cameos of our cast of characters, bundled in their seats
Guests also enjoyed Lou and Peter Berryman, a long-time folk duo, and Rising Gael, a very young but professional Celtic/Irish group, whom we all agreed were probably Rising Stars.
